Points for Reflection
The root of much of our suffering lies in a fundamental resistance to the present moment. We often find ourselves caught in a battle against reality, wishing that what is happening now were somehow different. This yearning for an alternative, a "better" scenario, creates a chasm between our expectations and our current experience, and it is in this space of discord that suffering takes hold. The agitation and frustration fueled by this desire for things to be other than they are directly disrupt our internal peace, pulling us away from the calm center we long to reside in. True peace, then, begins not with changing the world, but with changing our relationship to it. Learning to accept the unfolding tapestry of life, recognizing that even discomfort and challenge hold valuable lessons, is a crucial step. To actively seek the benefit within each experience, acknowledging that even unpleasant situations are ultimately serving our growth and evolution, is to begin the journey toward lasting, genuine peace.
Recognizing that navigating this path can sometimes feel overwhelming, I offer a space for personalized guidance and support. If you find yourself seeking clarity, tools, or simply a listening ear as you work towards cultivating a more peaceful existence, I am available for individual consultations.
I shared this recently at one of our group meetings and thought it was worthy of sharing here:
"Yesterday is History;
Tomorrow is a Mystery:
Today is a Gift ... that's why it's called the "present"
And everyday is a gift, and every experience is a gift if you choose to look for or preceive it as such.
